Tue 20 Feb 2024 Kirstie Richards

Ofsted Report Pennington C of E Junior School

It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce that we have been awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted. Inspectors rated Pennington as ‘Good’ in all areas: The Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development and Leadership and Management.

I am incredibly proud that the tireless hard work undertaken by everyone at PJS has been officially recognised and that our wonderful students now have yet another reason to be proud of our fantastic learning community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in the inspection itself, especially staff, governors and our students who shone during the inspection process and continue to impress us every day.

Highlights of the Ofsted report include:

  • Rememberance Week

    Fri 10 Nov 2023

This week, we have been thinking about those who have lost their lives serving our country. We have also been thinking about those who are caught up in conflict around the world today.

A group of our Year 6 children have delivered a collective worhsip to the whole school this week to remind us about the significance of the poppy and the importance of Remeberance Day. They will also be sharing this worship with the children at Pennington Infant School next week.

Today, we have laid a wreath at St Mark's to remember those who have lost their lives to protect their country.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them.

We are delighted to share the SIAMS report following our inspection on June 30th.

The inspector was extremely impressed with the children in the school saying,

'Classrooms are calm and purposeful learning environments. Pupils behave well across the school.'

He also stated that, 'Following Jesus’ example, pupils are inspired to be the best that they can be. The
development of the whole child is paramount to the dedicated leaders who ensure the flourishing of pupils and adults. Pupils learn to be resilient and respectful of others. This enables them to thrive academically, spiritually, and morally.'

Well done to all our wonderful children and staff who have worked so hard; we are so pleased that this has been recognised.

  • New - Arbor App - New communication method for parents and school.

    Wed 28 Dec 2022 Helen
We are firing up our new school messaging system and hoping to get as many parents/carers 'online' with it before January 2nd.

In the coming weeks, several new features will be coming online (watch this space) but before we can move onto the next phase, we need to make sure all parents/carers have at least got access to the app.

This app will make communication with the school much easier and more accessible as you message directly through the app as well being able to get more insight through your child's profile.

We have created a step by step guide on how to set it up and put it on our website. You can find that page by clicking on the link below. If you have any problems installing the app, then please follow the instructions as explained and ask any questions on our facebook page!
