Due to the severity of the pandemic and the fears that the spread will be much greater this time, the Government have amended the guidance regarding critical workers. Whilst we are very happy to have children in school and we are keen to support parents getting to work, the guidance is asking parents to keep children at home wherever possible.
Parents whose work is critical to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and EU transition response include those who work in health and social care and in other key sectors. Children with at least one parent or carer who is a critical worker can go to school or college if required, but parents and carers should keep their children at home if they can.
Taking these amendments into account, we ask that critical workers only bring children to school when there is no-one at home to look after the children because parents are at work.
We will be ringing parents this week to clarify this situation. We thank you very much for your support in helping to keep everyone safe.
